This quote is one that I’ve looked up many times and no one seems to have an exact answer as to what it means. The only thing I can figure is that because the beginning and the middle and the ending of writing are all intertwined within the writing process, it must be a reference to this. When we begin writing, we know we need a beginning and an ending. We also know we want a middle and we know there needs to be something in between those two things. But because we’re still new at writing, we don’t know exactly what that something should be.
